Since his appointment in 2004, Robert Fournier has served as City Attorney for over 20 years, providing invaluable legal counsel and institutional knowledge to the City Commission and City Staff.

Mr. Fournier began his service to the City in 1980, serving as Deputy City Attorney from 1980 until 1987. After gaining valuable experience in private practice, Mr. Fournier returned to the City Attorney’s Office in 1997 and was appointed City Attorney on October 1, 2004.

The City Commission extends its gratitude to Robert Fournier for his years of exemplary service and dedication to the City of Sarasota and congratulates him on a well-deserved retirement.
