Murals are a dynamic and impactful form of public art that contribute to the vibrancy of Sarasota’s urban and rural spaces. Embracing murals as a storytelling medium, the City celebrates its cultural heritage while enhancing the visual appeal of both public and private spaces.
The City has recently launched a Call for Walls initiative, seeking blank walls in good condition within city limits to host future mural projects. By partnering with private property owners, the City aims to expand opportunities for high-quality, themed murals that reflect the spirit of Sarasota and its diverse community.
Mural projects are selected through a thoughtful design development process, ensuring each piece aligns with the City’s values while engaging residents and visitors. Whether enhancing pedestrian experience or contributing to cultural tourism, Sarasota’s murals continue to serve as a testament to the City’s dedication to public art and creative expression.
