Notice of FDOT Lighting Policy Update

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has updated its policy on lighting for FDOT-owned facilities, effective February 1, 2025. This new policy (attached) replaces our local resolution and establishes specific guidelines for bridge lighting.

Under the revised policy, lighting colors and sequences will default to red, white, and blue. Any other lighting variations will be limited to recognizing, commemorating, or promoting government holidays. Additionally, alternative lighting displays approved by the Department must be related to transportation themes.
