Dear Parker,

Effective June 17^th, 2025, City of Sarasota garages at State Street, Palm Avenue, and St. Armands will no longer have gates or require a ticket for payment. 

That’s right, the garage will be totally “Gateless.”  This means a driver pulls in and parks vehicles without any interruption.  Simply use one of our two parking apps “Parkmobile” or “Passport” by entering license plate and making payment prior to existing the parking facility.

For customers that do not have a smartphone or prefer to pay with a physical credit card or coins, there will be a pay station located on the 1^st Floor near each elevator.

Permit holders- Access cards will no longer be required to enter and exit the facility.  Your vehicle will automatically be assigned a virtual permit by our office.  No need to contact the parking office as we will take care of this process for all permit holders.

NOTE: Remember to pay for parking “In Advance” before leaving the facility to avoid receiving a citation for nonpayment. 

City of Sarasota Parking Division

The City of Sarasota offers a variety of parking options to accommodate residents, visitors, and businesses. In the Downtown area, there are four (4) public parking facilities, three which are centrally located in downtown and one (1) on St. Armand Key near Lido Beach. With over 1,300 covered parking spaces in Downtown please consider using either the State Street, Palm Avenue, or 2nd Street/Whole Food's parking garage. Convenient on-street parking is also available at approximately 3,000 public parking spaces within the City of Sarasota where 1,100 are metered parking spaces. With an eye on improving foot traffic to our downtown merchants, the City has embarked on implementation of metered parking on the busiest and desirable areas of downtown. Additionally, off-street surface parking lots are dispersed across the city, providing both short-term and long-term parking needs.
