Community Canopy tree giveaway returns
The Community Canopy program, which offers free trees to help expand the urban canopy while reducing residents’ energy bills, will return to the City of Sarasota next week. In partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, the City will be giving away a total of 100 trees to residents at no cost.

Open house for US 41-Fruitville Road roundabout construction project to be held Oct. 1
The City of Sarasota invites the public to attend an informational open house meeting about the US 41-Fruitville Road roundabout construction project on Tuesday, October 1 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Foyer of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall (777 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34236).

Lido concession stand to temporarily close for renovations
The concession stand at Lido Beach will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, Sept. 30, while the City makes necessary repairs and upgrades to the pavilion. In its place, food trucks will be available most days of the week to provide service for beachgoers.

City declares a Local State of Emergency
