Fleet – We strive to manage our city-owned vehicles efficiently and responsibly. This includes maintaining our current fleet, optimizing operations, and incorporating electric vehicles when feasible to support sustainability efforts. |
Greenhouse Gas Reduction – The City Commission is committed to advancing the transition to renewable energy for city operations, with goals to achieve significant progress over time. |

Green Buildings – The Sarasota Police Department Building, the Robert L Taylor Community Center, the St. Armands Parking Garage, and the Palm Avenue Parking Garage are LEED-certified green buildings. They are designed and built to meet Park Smart certification, and some have solar panels on their roofs. | |

Greenspace – There are over 50 parks and open spaces in the city. Our parks and recreation department will work to manage them better and improve service. We also have a Downtown Greenspace Policy that promotes compact, mixed-use development. |
